It is the verification, monitoring and analysis of use of energy including submission of technical report containing recommendations for improving energy efficiency with cost benefit analysis and an action plan to reduce energy consumption.
The three main phase of the audit are:-
1. Preliminary Energy Audit: It is walk through audit & relatively quick exercise uses easily obtained data.
2. Detailed Energy Audit: Detailed studies would involve investigation & establishment of energy balances for specific process equipment
3. Post Energy Audit: On completion of energy audit, energy action plan will be prepared. The energy action plan list the ENCONs which should be implemented first and suggest an overall implementation schedule.
Scope of Audit
Analysis of electricity bills – Review of penalties levied on poor power factor, charges on excess maximum demand, etc.
Performance assessment of Pumps (3 Nos. of 50 HP pumps) and Pumping System
Measurement of actual water flow by using ultrasonic flow meter
Measurement actual head by using calibrated pressure gauge
Measurement of actual power using portable energy meter
Calculation of existing pump system efficiency
Recommendation for energy saving by improving system efficiency with Payback and ROI analysis
Performance assessment Lighting system
Measurement of lux level at work station
Measurement of actual power consumption
Recommendation for energy saving without affecting illumination level
Recommendation for energy saving by improving system efficiency with Payback and ROI analysis
Performance assessment of Split AC
Measurement of actual power consumption for rated TR capacity
Energy saving solution for same
Presenting our recommendations/ suggestions with cost implications (wherever possible) in the final report, along with digital photographs. Also attached will be a sample copy of new or revised checklists, procedures and maintenance practices, if any
Discussion on the audit report and finalizing the action plan to resolve those issues.
